Abstrakt

Experiments on the saturated nucleate boiling of mixtures from a copper flat plate facing upwards were conducted in the wide ranges of system pressure and heat flux to clarify the heat transfer deterioration inherent in the mixture boiling. Mixtures tested were ethanol-water at 0.1 to 2.0 MPa and R11-R113 at 0.1 to 1.5 MPa, where marked differences between them in both the shape of phase equilibrium diagram and the variation of physical properties with composition. The heat transfer deterioration was discussed based on the data obtained. A new theoretical method correlating the heat transfer data was developed from the mass transfer across a thin liquid film underneath a bubble.
