Abstrakt

The heat transfer performance under natural convection conditions of an effectively two-dimensional channel and bar geometry was studied by a combination of thermal measurement, schlieren flow visualisation and numerical analysis. The entry and exits of the channels were obstructed using half width baffles involving sixteen permutations of position. It was found that certain baffle combinations gave enhanced heat transfer coefficients over those for the open channel, this information being relevant to the thermal design of electronic equipment.
