Abstrakt

A non-equilibrium model is presented for vapour generation in flashing flow which occurs during pressure relief of liquefied gases. The model combines a description of nucleation and bubble growth with the two-phase continuity equations and thus allows the prediction of transient level swell in systems with boiling delay. The model is applied to investigate the effects of wall parameters on level swell during pressure relief.
