Abstrakt

A numerical simulation is presented on the mixed convective heat transfer of molten salts in single-side heated horizontal square tube. The flow and heat transfer characteristics of molten salt with bottom, lateral and top heating positions are analyzed, respectively. The results show that under non-uniform heating conditions, the velocity profiles shape of main core area changes with the increase of flow distance due to buoyancy effects and the core area is closed to heated sides. For different heating positions, different number and scales of secondary vortex flow forms in each cross section of channel which strengthened heat transfer ability obviously. Good agreement between simulated data and mixed convective correlation is reached. Compared with numerical simulation results which do not consider tube heat wall conduction, the results which consider tube wall heat conduction shows a more uniform mainstream core area with a larger Nux and the rebound position of Nux appears in advance.
