Sinopsis

Heat transfer and fluid flow in porous media with finite solid and fluid thermal conductivities and energy generation were investigated. Two coupled transient linear equations were solved by an implicit numerical modified Crank-Nicholson method. Single blow fluid temperature history and friction factors were measured. Energy was generated electrically. A volumetric heat transfer coefficient was obtained by matching experimental and analytical data. Correlations were based on a characteristic length obtained from pressure drop. The solid and fluid thermal conductivities have appreciable effects upon their respective temperatures but little effect on that of the other.
