Sinopsis

The research was carried out at the pressure of 245 bars. The two test tubes were of 22 mm inner diameter, 3 m length; the unevenness of their electrical heating was being accomplished by changing the wall thickness along the circumference. For upward flows of the medium, all other conditions being equal, the rate of local heat transfer is higher. than in case of uniform heating. In experiments with horizontally placed tube with underlying or lateral maximum heat fluxes, the highest wall temperature values were under some conditions observed on the upper part of the tube. This reflects the prominent role played by the natural convection.
