Sinopsis

The influence of strong favourable and adverse pressure gradients on the impervious-wall effectiveness was determined in the following ranges of non-dimensional distance, x/yC., ratio of slot to mainstream velocity, UC/UG, and slot to mainstream density, pC/pG;
0 < x/yC < 212,
0.55 < UC/UG < 2.21,
0.069 < pC/pG; < 4.17,
The results show that the influence of pressure gradients is complex but that its influence cannot always be neglected.
