Sinopsis

Normal reflectivities of Al, Al alloys and several kinds of transition metals are measured in the wavelength range of 0.36 ~ 21 µm at room temperature and in the wavelength range of 2.5 ~ 21 µm in the temperature range down to 12 K. A new model is proposed to predict the temperature dependence of radiative properties of metals at cryogenic temperatures. This model introduces the contribution of the additional scattering of the conduction electrons at the surface layer into the relaxation time. The temperature dependence of experimental absorptivities could be estimated by this model much more reasonably than by the usual Drude theory and the anomalous skin effect theory.
