COEFFICIENTS FOR THE COMBINED HEAT- AND MOMENTUM-TRANSFER IN LAMINAR AND TURBULENT BOUNDARY LAYERS
Sinopsis
The effect of mass transfer on heat-and momentum-transfer in laminar boundary layers has been determined by means of the numerical integration of boundary layer equations by several authors in recent years and confirmed by experiments. Different property characteristics of the
normal-to-wall flow and the carrier gas flow have also been covered (two-component boundary layers). The analysis of the numerical solution for the boundary
layer produces the dimensionless physical property numbers εf for the momentum
transfer and εH for the heat transfer to generally describe the transfer coefficients
with fair accuracy. For turbulent boundary layers, corrective factors to the film theory for the heat- and momentum-transfer were determined from the results
of experiments described in various research papers. In the first approximation, the factors depend on a single parameter εturb
