TRANSIENT RADIATION-CONDUCTIVE HEAT TRANSFER IN SELECTIVELY-ABSORBING MEDIA
Sinopsis
This paper presents the results of rated-analytical and experimental studies of transient temperature fields in selectively-absorbing layers of window glass and gaseous ammonia, formed under the influence of an external thermal radiation. The boundary-value problem reduces to a nonlinear integral equation and is solved by a numerical temperature functional minimization method. Temperature fields are measured either by thermocouple (in glass) or by an interferometric method (in gas). Adequate agreement between calculated and experimental results and high velocity of heating by ammonia radiation are shown.
