Sinopsis

Algebraic models have been developed for calculating the total emissivities and absorptivities of carbon dioxide, water vapor and their mixtures over a wide range of temperatures and partial pressures. The models are based on band emission data and give the total emissivity as a sum of the emission within each band. The band emission is assumed to have an absorption coefficient which is independent of temperature.
The predictions by the models were compared with experimental data [1,2] and the predictions by a number of other models [2-5]. The results indicate that these band models are in good agreement with total emissivity data and agree well with other algebraic total emissivity models obtained by other numerical techniques.
