TRANSIENT THERMAL ELECTROMAGNETIC BEHAVIORS IN TYPE-II SUPERCONDUCTORS DURING QUENCHING
Sinopsis
A numerical study of quench phenomenon in superconductors was performed by using computational codes which can analyze both temperature and electrical current distributions in the superconductors. In the electromagnetic analysis, one of the critical state models, Bean model, was employed to determine the current distribution in the superconductors and effect of magnetic flux flow was also taken into account.
Through this study was obtained a very interesting result that stability limit against heat disturbance shows large difference between the results based on the critical state model anda conventional simplemodel.
