Sinopsis

A submerged slot jet of air has been used as cooling system for three circular cylinders heated by an electric current. The slot was made of a rectangular channel as wide as the three cylinders. The height of the slot was equal to the cylinders diameter. The distance between the slot and the first cylinder is eight times the slot height. The distances between the three cylinders is five times the slot height.
The cylinders were made of stainless steel tubes, with a teflon bar as a core. Five thermocouples were pressed by the teflon bar inside each cylinder to measure the temperature distribution along the circumference. The local convective heat transfer coefficients and the local Nusselt numbers were evaluated.
The experimental heat transfer results on the three cylinders are presented at the velocities and Reynolds numbers allowed by the fan.
