CHARACTERISTIC ANALYSIS OF PRESSURE DROP IN A MICROCHANNEL HEAT SINK
Sinopsis
Instability analysis is critical for the safety operation of the microchannel system, which could be used as a heat sink with high heat efficiency. Flow visualization and measurements of two-phase flow boiling in parallel microchannels were conducted in order to investigate the dynamic instability in a microchannel system. Six parallel rectangular microchannels with a cross-section of 377×821 µm were machined on the top surface of the test section. The experiments were performed in the range of mass flux 23.04 − 111.89 kg/m2·s, heat flux 10.29 − 99.56 kW/m2 and inlet temperature 40 − 60 °C. The effects of heat flux and liquid inlet temperature are discussed in this paper and the frequency-domain analysis of the pressure drop shows oscillation characteristics under various conditions.
