EFFECT OF COATING WITH LOW THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY UPON BOILING HEAT TRANSFER OF LIQUID ON ISOTHERMAL AND NON-ISOTHERMAL SURFACES
Résumé
An experimental study of heat transfer has been carried out in nucleate and film boiling of Freon-113 on isothermal surfaces with low heat conducting coatings. Coatings with low thermal conductivity have been found to considerably transform the boiling curve. The application of low heat conducting coatings on the fin surfaces has been shown to expand the range of temperature differences at nucleate and transition boiling and, therefore, to increase the heat flux removed by the fin. Numerical calculation has been made of heat transfer in liquid boiling on a fin surface with low heat conducting coating.
