Résumé

The two-dimensional temperature field has been analyzed for a heat-generating solid with regularly arranged, embedded cooling tubes. A unique numerical analysis called the rational approach is applied to obtain a solution in a finite series which gives rise to rapidly converging numerical results. An analytical solution is first derived for the particular case when the cooling tubes may be idealized as line heat-sinks. This solution is then translated parametrically into solutions for temperature fields with embedded cooling tubes of finite radii. It is shown that the present solutions are accurate enough to detect the discretization error involved in solving the same problem by the finite-difference method.
