Résumé

The paper presents an analytical model for the finite-rate, diffusional combustion of hydrocarbons in air. It was assumed that the combustion goes through two stages: complete combustion of fuel to carbon monoxide and then partial combustion of the latter to carbon dioxide. Using an order of magnitude analysis, it was shown that the combustion region consists of two subregions corresponding to the two reactions. The model provides relationships between the flame properties and local flow field.
