Résumé

In the present experimental investigations, film-boiling heat transfer is determined for the extended masses of three liquids viz. water, ethanol and carbon tetrachloride on a hot plate at different wall temperatures, the maximum value being 475°C Partial evaporation rates are obtained. Liquid patch areas are determined by photographic means at various intervals of time for different wall temperatures. Thus, the liquid film thickness are evaluated indirectly from the photographic observations and partial evaporation data and the heat transfer coefficients during the process of evaporation are calculated.
