Résumé

A method for computing the steady radiative exchange in enclosure systems of arbitrary geometry is presented. The analysis and calculation procedures, which explicitly include the simultaneous convective and radiative interaction of each surface with an ambient, permit the determination of surface temperatures, heat flux rates and radiosity fluxes. Enclosure systems having thin and thick walls or walls consisting of multiple surfaces, such as radiation shielding, are considered. The calculations are for surfaces that are gray and diffuse, a condition having many practical applications of importance, especially for engineering design situations. Numerical examples are given.
