Résumé

This paper describes an experimental investigation of two-phase flow through a large vessel tee-junction take-off. The primary objective of the experimental portion of the research is to obtain data which can be used to formulate and test mechanistically based models of interfacial area transport through the junction. The doublesensor conductivity probe is used in the vertical large vessel section whereas the two-sensor parallel-wire conductivity probe, double-sensor and four-sensor probes are used in the horizontal sections which have two different test geometry, 50.8 mm and 95.3 mm ID. Experimental results are documented in terms of void fraction and interfacial area concentration to describe transitions in the interfacial transport and the pipe size scaling effects on the interfacial area transport.
