Résumé

The Couette flow model was used to study radiation interaction effects in high-speed flow with mass transfer cooling. The particular case studied in detail corresponds to the equilibrium or recovery wall temperature condition wherein the convection to the wall is balanced by the net radiation from the wall. The recovery temperature and corresponding temperature profiles are determined for a range of the radiation interaction parameter, the mass transfer rate, and the optical thickness. The relatively simple approach of superposition (i.e., adding the heat transfer for the pure radiation case to that for the pure convection case) is also examined.
