Résumé

In this paper an approximate analytical solution is given for the extracted heat as a function of time for a finite slab of phase change material with a surface heat transfer coefficient. The phase change material is characterized by a transition range. It will be shown how, for an arbitrary Biot number, an approximate solution can be obtained from the solutions in the case Bi → 0 (homogeneous temperature in phase change material) and Bi → ∞ (constant temperature boundary condition).
