Résumé

An experimental study was conducted to investigate the effect of pulsation of flow on heat transfer from a horizontal cylinder in mixed free and forced convection crossflow. The working fluid flowed upward in a rectangular channel. The pulsating flow produced a great enhancement in heat transfer, especilly on the rear portion of the cylinder. The mean heat transfer coefficient became higher with increasing the amplitude of pulsation. But the coefficient decreased with increasing the frequency of pulsation.
