Résumé

We present the investigation of heat transfer coefficient distribution under arrays of impinging jets. A configuration optimized in terms of homogeneity within the field of heat transfer coefficient shall be developed. The development and characterization has been performed using the commercial solver ANSYS FLUENT 14.5 and transient heat transfer experiments with a high local resolution. The development process starts characterizing a staggered array of impinging jets. Next we developed an air supply system that allows withdrawing the spent fluid by additional holes in the orifice plate. With this system we minimize the interaction effects between neighboring jets and create an array of unit cells. In the ongoing investigations we vary the pattern of the nozzle structure, the mass flow rate and the jet-to-plate distance.
