Résumé

Natural draft dry cooling tower (NDDCT) makes great contributions to water saving of cooling process in thermal power station and also plays an important role in the energy saving of thermal power system, so it is meaningful to study and optimize its thermal design. And then it is essential to develop an easy way to realize the optimal thermal design of NDDCT, which could flexibly compute and analyze the cooling performance of NDDCT. This paper presented a new method for the thermal design of NDDCT, which computed the cooling performance of NDDCT and its flow resistance characteristics based on giving constant heat load. With the known design data of two exiting NDDCTs, the accuracy of the developed method was verified. By the design method for NDDCT, the impacts of critical factors on the cooling performance of NDDCT were analyzed, such as the cooling column number n, the ratio m of cooling water to steam, the geometrical parameters of fin-tube radiators and the ambience parameters. The relevant conclusions are very interesting for realizing the optimal design of NDDCT.
