Résumé

In this study, A method combining magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and dual-chamber pressure decay (i.e. the PVT method) was applied to measure the diffusivity of CO2 in bulk nhexadecane. During the experiment, the liquid-phase volume expanded with darker images, and the average signal intensity dropped exponentially. By analyzing the signal intensity on the MRIs, we clarified the distribution of dimensionless CO2 content. Then based on Fick's law, we computed the diffusion coefficient related with diffusing displacement and diffusion time using non-iterative finite volume method. Thereby, we computed the overall average diffusion coefficient within the diffusion time and validated the reliability of the conclusions. The experiments prove that MRI is efficient for studying gas diffusion. The experimental results show that the diffusion coefficient decreased along the diffusing direction and declined exponentially with time. The diffusion coefficient at high temperature is bigger than at low temperature.
