要約

A theoretical and experimental investigation was conducted to determine the influence of body forces and drop departure size on the dropwise condensation heat transfer coefficient. The analysis considered heat transfer through a drop, the drop departure size, and the size distribution. The centrifugal accelerations used covered the range from 1 to 800 g's, with water vapor at atmospheric pressure condensing on a gold-plated copper surface.
The measured heat transfer coefficients ranged between 0.2 and 0.6 MW/m2°K. Still photographs provided the measurements of maximum drop size on the surface at different accelerations. Variation of measured heat transfer coefficients with the body forces and drop departure sizes agreed well with the predictions.
