要約

A stability analysis is presented for time dependent thermal diffusion zones refering to non-isothermal flows in a semi-infinite porous medium, possibly bounded by adiabatic and non-permeable side-walls. Rayleigh-Benard and Saffman-Taylor instabilities, due respectively to temperature-induced density and viscosity variations are taken into account. Assuming that the Boussinesq approximations are valid, stability criterion is obtained by two theoretical ways from the perturbation equations : a linear analysis leading to the numerical integration of perturbation equations, a variational approach issued from energy method.
Results show the influence of time and perturbation pattern on stability for different flow-rates. Lateral boundaries are shown to lead to a stabilization of the displacement.
