要約

Art experimental investigation of heat transfer on spheres 0.25—96 mm in diameter quenched in nitrogen, argon and helium was conducted. Nu values were obtained When Ar numbers ranged from 300 to 1012 . Capillary forces were shown to affect film boiling process unless the sphere diameter exceeded eight Laplace constants.
A minimum Nu number connected with the pure heat conduction through the stagnant vapour film was established.
A two-layer model of film boiling was considered. The analysis of heat transfer problem solution along with the experimental data enabled us to obtain dimensionless correlations allowing to calculate heat transfer coefficient on spheres of arbitrary size. The proposed correlations predict all practically available data to within ±25%.
