In the range of Ra < 1010, Pr < 105 heat transfer at free convection in closed cavities is studied numerically.An analysis is made of the temperature fields.The empirical fonnulae obtained describe the dependence of Nu on the Rayleigh number. The Ra regions with the temperature characteristics being the functions of the Rayleigh number only are found for any range of Pr. A third-order finite-difference scheme developed for solving high-rate convective heat transfer problems is presented.
