要約

Data have been obtained on the density of nucleation sites over the entire region of nucleate boiling of saturated water on isothermal and non-isothermal surfaces. In this paper use has been made of the Probe Method based upon recording the electrical conductivity of the "probe-heating surface" gap. Experimental data for both surfaces are approximated by a single correlation of the density of active nucleation sites upon surface superheat. Data have been obtained on the relative residence time and frequency of the contact of liquid with the non-isothermal surface upon transition boiling.
