要約

The results of heat transfer measurements from a single cylinder in a highly turbulent flow are given. Measurements were performed at the nominally constant Reynolds number (19000), for turbulence intensities 2.5% to 16% and turbulence macroscales O. 5 cm to 1. 82 cm. Special attention was paid to generating and measuring grid turbulence. Stagnation point heat transfer, mean heat transfer and the flow pattern have been analysed. The results have shown different characteristics of heat transfer and the flow pattern around a cylinder in a highly turbulent free stream at a small Reynolds number, compared with the results obtained at Reynolds numbers near critical.
