要約

Magnetic force as a kind of different body force from the gravity can also produce a buoyancy force that drives the fluid to flow. The numerical studies on the free convection of air in a 2D square enclosure with a non-uniform magnetic field are presented. The flow patterns, temperature distributions and mean Nusselt numbers in different directions are obtained and the effect of different directions of magnetic force on the free convection is investigated. The direction of the magnetic force in which the free convection is enhanced to the largest extent and the direction in which the convection can be degenerated into the conduction are analyzed. There exists a critical angle of the magnetic force in which the flow of the air will experience a change from clockwise to anticlockwise, or vice versa.
