要約

The part-bath heat transfer during a quenching operation is a complex process bringing into plays various boiling modes and convection for vaporizable fluids. The characterization of the part-bath heat transfer coefficient requires characteristic developments for measuring fast transient states. This paper describes experimental methodology and particularly the instrumentation which was developed within the laboratory. This instrumentation ‘’in skin’’ allows a precise measurement of temperature fields in a close vicinity of the surface to be characterized. It is designed to resist to the thermal shock. The measurement campaign validates experimental methodology and shows a great concordance with the classical results of the bibliography. A parametric study is carried out and results relate to the influence of the size, the roughness, and the coating of the quenched parts on the part-bath heat transfer coefficient.
