要約

Boiling heat transfer is a very effective and efficient mode of heat transfer, and it is encountered in numerous engineering applications. One important field of the application of boiling and evaporation is in desalination of seawater, which is becoming essential in some arid regions. In contrast to the heat transfer in turbulent pipe flow with surfactants, which shows a reduction in the heat transfer coefficient the study of some surfactant solutions in the pool boiling shows a significant increase in the heat transfer coefficient.
We used natural surfactants, with negligible environmental impact, to enhance heat transfer. Boiling heat transfer from horizontal stainless steel tubes, submerged in surfactant solutions of various concentrations, was studied experimentally. The kinetics of boiling (bubble nucleation, growth and departure) was investigated by highspeed video recording. The specific features of boiling of surfactant solutions were revealed.
