Heat transport in the intermediate laminar periodic wake of a circular cylinder
要約
This experimental study is devoted to the diffusion of a passive scalar downstream of a line source located in a
Bénard-von Kármán street. Measurements of velocity and temperature have been performed using LDA and cold
wire thermometer with a phase reference. Information on the large scale structure of the velocity and temperature fields is presented by studying the momentum and the longitudinal and transverse heat fluxes. Results concerning the fine structure of the temperature field has also been obtained from this experiment. Information mainly concerns the dynamic of orientation of temperature gradient in relation with the directions of the eigenvectors of the strain-rate tensor. It is shown that in the strain dominated regions the temperature gradient tends to align with the compression axis.
