ON THE DETERMINATION OF THE REGENERATOR LOSSES IN STIRLING CYCLES

This paper presents a one-dimensional time-dependent model (and its numerical solution) for the instationary periodic heat transfer problem in the regenerator of a Stirling cooling cycle. The model includes the energy equations for the regenerator material and the flowing gas. In a second stage the equation for an amount of non-moving gas is added to the model, thus demonstrating the influence of the residence tine distribution of the gas in the regenerator.
