In this paper, a numerical investigation of natural convection in a square cavity filled with a fluid with viscosity depending on temperature is presented. The numerical procedure must deal with the mixed derivatives which appear in the vorticity transport equation of the Navier Stokes equations. Some streamline pattern are presented and we are interested in the appearance of instabilities which were observed in experimental investigations.
