要約

The component which is at the heart of every air conditioning system is the dehumidifier (cooling) coil. It is this coil which must offset both the sensible and the latent loads while maintaining comfortable conditions in the rooms. Through new understanding of both the fundamental heat and mass transfer processes which occur in the coil and the thermodynamics of the coil/load system, a family of design methods has been evolved which in their ultimate form yield conditions which coincide almost perfectly with those which have been found to provide the greatest degree of human comfort [1,2] throughout the entire operating range. Because the designs are firmly founded on fundamental physical principles, they involve a much lower energy consumption than do conventional systems.
