Measurements were performed with submerged and free jets of transformer oil and ethylene glycol to investigate the local characteristics of impingement heat transfer. The effect of Prandtl number, Reynolds number and nozzle-to-plate spacing was studied experimentally. The radial distribution of local heat transfer coefficients was measured. All the experimental data were well correlated by semi-empirical equations based on simplified analyses.
