要約

An experimental study is performed to investigate turbulent jet diffusion flames using the doublet flow formed with the concentric annulus, in which the fuel jet is injected from the inner tube and the surrounding air is sucked in the outer tube. Emphasis is placed on both the measurement of the blow-out fuel flow rate and the morphology of the flame through real-time color image processing with the aid of slow-motion video recording. It is found that (i) an increase in the suction velocity of the air induces an amplification in the blow-out velocity and an effect of the outer tube size on the blow-out velocity is minor, and (ii) the doublet flow induces an increase in the blow-out velocity, resulting in the suppression of the blow-out of the flame.
