要約

The results of heat transfer experiments with gradient heat flux sensors (GHFS) are presented. The proposed procedure based on the use of GHFSs is a new technology developed by the authors. These sensors feature a very short response time, low electric resistance, and quite high sensitivity. They are designed for operation in a wide temperature range from cryogenic temperatures to 1000 K.
Aerodynamics and heat transfer in a flow over cylinders and circular fins have been investigated in a real-time using a particle image velocimetry (PIV) technique and GHFS simultaneously. Transient heat flux was measured in the combustion chamber of a high-speed diesel engine. Heat transfer in steam condensation on an internal or external surface of a tube was investigated.
The measurement of heat flux with gradient heat flux sensors is a highly informative technique which can be very useful in obtaining unique experimental data. This approach enables us to gain new data in experimental investigations of heat transfer. Combination of the heat flux measurement with the particle image velocimetry makes it possible to perform a comprehensive investigation of flow characteristics and heat transfer near isothermal or nonisotermal surfaces
