要約

The technology for drying at a low temperature is required in the drying industry because flammable solvents are ignited and the heat damages are generated in a solute by a high temperature. Recently, the wavelength selective heater with a band pass filter has been developed to prevent from the ignition. However, the big heat loss occurs at the filter. In this study, the wavelength selective emitter with the metamaterial of a metal-insulator-metal (MIM) is developed to prevent from the big heat loss. The MIM emitter has the metamaterial of Au-Al2O3-Au and can emit the radiation with the normal emissivity peak over 0.8 at the wavelength of 6.60 µm. The experiments for evaporating toluene are carried out in the cases of using the MIM emitter in a vacuum and a black paint with a band pass filter in an atmospheric pressure and a vacuum. Toluene has an absorption band at the wavelength of 6.68 µm. It has been found out that the heat required for evaporating one gram of toluene decreases 39.7 % and 21.4 % in the case of using the MIM emitter in a vacuum than using the black paint with a band pass filter in an atmospheric pressure and a vacuum, respectively. Numerical analyses are clarified that the MIM emitter has nonnegligible heat loss and the thermal management allows to decrease the heat loss moreover. It is concluded that the MIM emitter can contribute to decrease big heat loss at the wavelength selective heater with the filter.
