要約

In consideration of heat transfer limitation in traditional methane reforming reactors, process intensification analysis of methane reforming for hydrogen production by heat pipe was carried out with the application of CHEMKIN and CFD software, in order to solve the non-uniform temperature distribution problem. Results showed that heat pipe in the reactor can enhance axial heat conduction along the catalyst bed. Temperature difference between cold spot and highest temperature in the reactor decreased significantly. Although the heat pipe occupied part of the catalyst reaction volume, but performance of methane reforming reactor improved. The location of the heat pipe in the reactor also affected methane conversion and hydrogen production. This study can provide reference for heat pipe catalyst reactor design and optimization.
