Resumo

Laminar film boiling of a saturated liquid in the presence of both a body force and forced convection is analyzed utilizing the Pohlhausen integral technique. The analysis assumes gravity and free-stream velocity are parallel but countercurrent, and, in the vapor layer, a linear temperature profile and small inertia terms. Solutions of body force only and forced convection only are obtained as asymptotes to the present solution and show excellent agreement with other investigators. The pure forced convection case requires only the solution of a simple cubic equation. Solutions for the entire range of Froude number are presented for a case typical of common fluids.
