VAPOR-LIQUID INTERACTION IN A HIGH VELOCITY VAPOR JET CONDENSING IN A COAXIAL WATER FLOW
Resumo
A high-speed steam jet in contact with and condensing into a cocurrent coaxial flow of subcooled water is studied experimentally. The results have been successfully correlated by a Stanton number-Reynolds number relation. The characteristic velocity used is the interfacial velocity calculated from a Reynolds flux model taking into account the momentum transfer due to viscous effects and the action of the mass condensing flux. In addition, six reproducible regimes of steam-jet behavior have been observed.
