Since 1989, NEC and Waseda University have conducted a joint research on CPL and many significant conclusions have obtained. Now, our project enters upon a new phase and we design CPL for the satellite USERS which plans to launch in 2002, and make its prototype loop test on its performance and transient behaviors. In this paper, these experimental results and analysis of the heat transfer characteristics are described and finally, new prediction models for the heat transfer limit and transient behavior are proposed.
