Resumo

The heat transfer coefficient between a heating surface and a bed of moving slag spherical particles of three sizes / 0.78 ; 1.2 and 2.2 mm / was measured when the contact time of the particles with the surface was known. The heat transfer coefficient increased with a decrease in the contact time and it reached the maximum. It was established that the maximum of the heat transfer coefficient was a linear function of the value 1/r.
To explain this correlation, the steady problem of heat transfer through a gas layer between a sphere and a plane was considered. The solution of this problem was obtained by the electrical analogy method.
