Resumo

The transient thermal response of a falling liquid film along a vertical surface is investigated. Consideration is given to the step change in surface heat flux. Details of the transient film growth and the Nusselt number are obtained for a range of Reynolds and Prandtl numbers. The approach of the transient heat transfer rate to the steady state conditions has been described and compared with experimental data for the cases of film heating and evaporation.
