Resumo

The results of investigations of liquid distributions under the annular dispersed flow conditions in the channels with promoters are presented. The most frequently applied ways of augmentation are considered, namely, turbulization and flow swirl. The experiments have been carried out on pipes, annular channels and the channel with the square-shaped cross-section. The processes of direct drops-turbulator interaction were shown to play the basic role in the liquid film formation. Besides, the investigations indicated the ambiguous effect of the flow swirl on the liquid film flow rate. A complex nonmonotonic pattern of the liquid film flow rate was revealed downstream from the turbulence promoters.
